预订员在接到客人的预订要求后，要立即将客人的预订要求与酒店未来时期 内客房的利用情况进行对照，决定是否能够接受客人的预订，如果可以接受，就 要对客人的预订加以确认。

确认预订的方式通常有两种，即口头确认（包括电话 确认）和书面确认。1. 口头确认口头确认一般是通过电话进行确认，即预订员将上一个工作流程所接受的预订，在与客人联系时予以认可和承诺。
